For Dreamhost's 7th birthday, they are doing new accounts for only $9.24 for an entire year of hosting + free website domain registration!

800meg
40gig transfer
with a domain name!
$9.24! a year!

I did it this morning and my website is already up and running at http://www.hirethisguy.com

Here's this link:
www.dreamhost.com/

They are only doing this for the first 777 accounts so hurry!

You should edit out your referral link. It's frowned upon here.

When are negative comments allowed?
If you know a "deal" is a scam.

If the post contains improper links, such as click-through referrals, etc. If you know a better link for the same deal, post it in the thread.

Guess the $65 per refered client got to ya?

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/...p;sortorder=descending

Ratings are up and down.

UPs
- Good company, stable. Not over the night
- Has somewhat good servers

Downs
- Somewhat of downtime
- Slow DB, POP3, CP creatin. Can take up to 4 hours to create a database (Just the database, with no conent)
- Put on a crowded server.

People have said that this plan is legit so if you have $10 go ahead and do it, the worst is u loose $10.

Who has control over your domain after the 12 months? You or them?

I wouldn't say thats the worst. What I would say would be the worst case would be if your domain got popular and after a year you couldn't get it from them.

Probably them, otherwise this would be HOT even if you used the hosting for 1 month.

At the end, when it gives you the promo code, you should be able to type in 777 and it will show the discount. it did for me.

Dreamhost has been around for quite a long time...they're not a fly-by-night operation, so I don't think it's any different than other hosting companies...

These guys are legit.

The control panel for my account was custom built by hand based on customer feedback. The response time was fast when I had questions. Of course, I had met some of their people, so I don't know if they have given me special treatment.

I have been running tests there:
http://www.bptest.dreamhost.com/

The PHP setup was a little different than what I was used to, but one of my engineers found the problem and fixed it after reviewing their FAQs better than I did.

Still working as of now. Impressive seeing the code knock ~110$ off the 1 year plan. I put your site in the refer thing as well.

For all those wondering, I plan to take my hosting elsewhere after the year is over. You have to make sure you cancel before the year expires or they will automatically bill you. There is a setting you can change in the control panel that sets it. Hope that helps!

cPanel licenses are expensive.

Besides either this web host will be dead in a few months or service/uptime will be spotty.

You get what you pay for.

this is now bumped up to 120GB transfer monthly for the same price, you can use that same promo code, and they are tripling some aspects of the level 1 account as well. i did it, coolness!

RossMAN, is this a good deal to jump on? I'm a noob to the whole webpage and forum thing but I've seen before that you give out a lot of advice to this type of thing. I tried to PM you but I saw that you can't reply to your PM's.

Any way to confirm that you still have the control over your domain after one year?

No, this is totally unrealistic pricing.

I would suggest this instead.
