As a Chinese American I want to share a moment of silence here with everyone for those we died on 9-11-2001. A day we will always remembered and will never forget.

What does being a "Chinese American" have to do with 9/11? If you are just stating you are an American, why point out that you are of Chinese decent? Does it matter?

not to thread crap, but there is already a large thread about this in OT, which is where this thread belongs

that being said,

God bless America, and all those that perished in the attacks were true heroes.

If you say that let me ask u this then. What does African American have to do with 9/11? I was just being more SPECIFIC here that's all nothing else. Yes it doesn't matter we are all Americans.

I hope we all remember as the years pass.God Bless all the families of the innocents killed on 9-11. :brokenheart:
I also hope all the terroists get their "eternal" reward swiftly as its not going to be the flock of virgins they foolishly expect.

Some of us dont frequent OT and a thread like this here benefits the community.

Being African American doesn't matter either. It just gets tiring when it seems minorities talk about being discriminated against, and yet they are the ones usually throwing their race into every issue.

Anyways.....yes, we are all Americans 🙂, and we will remember 9/11 for a long time. Our children's grandchildren will be reading about it in history books.

lets not get into a pissing contest....lets just use the threads in off topic to send out our thanks/condolences to all the people that have made a difference in our lives

Actually. I see nothing wrong with anyone mentioning as a "chinese american" or "african american" etc. It shows how diverse as a Nation we truly are. BTW what is a politically correct term for someone who is caucasian? I never really thought of it. Would it be Caucasian American? White American seems so weird and inappropriate.

Caucasian means you are from Caucas, a region of Russia. I prefer white.

I love this country! Remeber those that have died so we can have our freedom; Revolutionary War, Civil War, and the other wars to protect freedom of people around the world. The people that died on 9-11-2002 died enjoying their freedom. Freedom is not Free.

I will always remeber this date. I was turned on the tv to watch the today show, and they have live pictures of the first hit, then around 9 then next one. I went to college, which was in Upstate NY, and every corridor had a tv showing the news. Classes were cancelled, everyone was in fear. As a recent dual citizen of the US and longtime UK, I am proud to be appart of this great nation. God Bless America!

Never forget, always remeber.

I was late for work. Took the train towards mid-town. My train stopped in its track at the middle of the Manhattan Bridge. The first tower was on fire, nobody knew why. Everybody was screaming, then the second plane hit the World Trade 2.

Sounds like you dodged a bullet.

I totally agree. As for caucasian, I guess you can call yourself: Italian-American, Irish-American, Welsh-American, etc.

You are obviously NOT a minority, thus you will never really understand what that means...

That aside, I live and work in Manhattan and 9/11 was the saddest day of my adult life. But it was also a day where a great many people, regardless of race and religion, pulled together to help one another simply as human beings and as Americans. One of the most tragic moments in our history can also be viewed as one of our finest. Having many friends and relatives who worked in and around the WTC, I was fortunate to not have lost anyone dear to me, but I know many who did. I have never been the gung ho patriotic sort, but I will never forget this day, nor what it meant (and still means) to our nation.

Now since this is a hot deals forum 😀, saw this on got@pex:

Free 3 X 5 American Flag (just pay shipping)

wouldn't European American fit the bill more?
the term white american loses a lot of meaning since you're going by color of skin and not tracing your heritage/lineage...just my opinion on it

I've minored in American Ethnic Studies and we usually get into this debate at least once during the course of the class every quarter.

Anyhow...yes....a moment of silence to honor the fallen ---
