8RGA+ IGP performance

Hiya. I recently got this system for mostly uni work:
Athlon XP 1800+
Epox 8RGA+ mobbo
1x512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM

Not that I'm overly concerned since this isn't my gaming rig, but I did a quick run of 3DMark2001SE yesterday, and got about 2500 marks. Is this normal? From what I've been reading, I should be getting 4000+, right?

The other thing is that this is my first nforce board. I'm still using the drivers that came with the Epox CD (v1.15, I think). Is the IGP performance increased dramatically by going to v2.03, as the description on the nvidia website said something about IGP support? With installing new drivers, do I just install it without removal of the previous drivers (sorry, been using VIA mobbos before)? And if I should remove the previous drivers before new ones, what should I be looking for in Add/Remove Programs?

I'm afraid I won't be able to run UT2k3 benchies yet, will have to get back to studying soon. ;) Any help or info on nforce drivers will be much appreciated by this nforce newbie. :)

Well, If I remember correctly, IGP performance is increased by quite a lot when using 2 sticks of DDR in Dual Channel mode.

Also check the settings on 3DMark, you may have set the details higher than most people use as a benchmark.

Thanks for the reply, Elcs. Didn't know that IGP performance is that dependent on running in dual channel mode. The reason I got a stick of 512MB was because I thought I'll get another 512MB stick in the future and run those two in dual channel, and if I am still keeping this mobbo when the time comes to getting a total of 2GB (yikes) of RAM, I'll have a stick of 1GB against two sticks of 512MB. Anyway, enough ranting on my crap reasoning. ;)

3DMark has the same settings as on my gaming rig, which is getting expected scores.

Do you know where I can get some info on the previous driver versions? Had trouble looking for them, and I was hoping I'll find something about "IGP problems fixed" in them. :)
