8RDA+ and PSU

Hello all, just wanted to share a little something. I have 2 enermax psu's. One is a 430watt the other a 350. The 430 hated the 8RDA+ Would give me a 5 rail of 4.62 full load, this made the system sluggish. So I put in my 350 and this gave me a 4.78 5 rail. Not bad. But I saw someone on another board talk about a PSU he bought that gave a great 5 rail for the 8RDA+. It is a PSU by a company called Works. I think the 430watt one was $50 or something like that at newegg. So I got one. Just put it in and am very happy. Not only is it VERY quiet, but this is giving my a 4.92 5volt rail on full load with my 1700@2280mhz 216x10.5.

Just wanted to share. 🙂

I own an Enermax EG465P-VE 431 watt PSU.

I own an Epox 8RDA+ motherboard.

I have 4.97 on the +5v rail and 12.16 on the +12v rail.

I think you are very lucky.
My EG365P-VE gave me 4.75v. Swapped it with an Antec Truepowew 430w, cruising at 4.92 load.

That is correct. Enermax makes a great PSU, but they have some issues with Epox. Here is my enermax journey.... Started with an 8k7a and a enermax 350 watt. Had no issues. Upgraded to a 8k3a and the 5 rail went to 4.65. Bought a enermax 430 watt and the problem was solved. Upgraded to the 8rda+ and with the 430 my 5 rail was 4.62. So I out back in the 350 which was slightly better. Now this works PSU gives me a 4.92 5 rail under full load. In my searching at AMDMB forums I have seen many people with epox/enermax issues. Some get lucky.
