I'm researching parts for a computer I'm building and I'm wondering what the difference is between these motherboards. I know they have different chipsets and the 8kha has an extra DIMM slot, but are there any other differences. Also, which one of these chipsets is better? I don't really need the raid in the 8k7a+, unless that is going to be a very important feature in the next year or two. This is my first computer that I'm building, so any help would be appreciated greatly.

The 8K7A has the new AMD chipset. That's the good stuff you want to go with. The other one has the VIA which isn't as good as the AMD 761.

Hey, well I just got my K7T266pror running and it is pretty nice, gave me no problems at all except with my darn Emachines Windows Cd, first time builder too, started up and everything was fine. I like this motherboard very much, lots of features. I've had no problems with the Via chipset though, not like many claim. Hmm, I think there is a review on the 8KHA at Hardwareluxx.com and even Ocworkbench.com. Also, I like the added dim the Via chipset gives you compared to the Amd, not a lot to fuss over, but just something to let you know.
