After a case upgrade and increase of fans vid card and a couple pci cards added think my enermax is starting to suffer with the 5volt prob...5v is at 4.67 under no load and if puter is off over nite it'll freeze during bootup can fix by turning psu off/on...so deciding between moding it or get a Good psu that'll won't have any probs...thanks

I don't remember that the exact output of the rails are and I'm at work so I can't check, but they were all above the + rating. I did have to adjust the pots on the PSU though.

I dont have my Epox board anymore.
But i CAN tell you that Enermax PSU + Epox = disaster.
Youre right on your diagnosis, the enermax cant hold the +5v worth a crap!

I had a 431w Enermax that absolutelely hated my 8K7A.

Made me mad too, cuz I asked on this forum & "looked" around
b4 deciding to get an Enemax PSU.

It was highly reccomended.

I was happy with it , UNTIL i bought an Epox board.

I ditched the Enermax & kept the Epox.
(The "mod" for the Enermax PSU just seemed to risky for me)

Antec is a great choice.
Pretty much all I will buy anymore.

BTW: my bro is still running my old 8k7a/GF3 Ti200/Athlon 1700xp with a "generic" 400w PSU I bought at a show with no issues at all.
(thats with a Chieftec case, 5 fans & two cathodes also)

But I wouldnt reccomend buying a "generic" PSU unless youre GIVING the board away like I did. LOL

MTDEW...I also did research on my enermax 365px-ve which was reguarded as being good but right after I bought it early 2001 the 5v probs started going thru the forums but even though my readings were low never had a prob until all my additions I've made this year.I'm also using a case similar to your brothers a chieftac silver dragon with 5 case fans...looking more like a antec psu for me ...thanks for your reply

Yes, Antec does relabel all the PSUs they sell. My pp303x and pp403x are actually made by Channel Well. My Antec pp352x is made by HEC. Not sure who makes the TruPower series for them, but sooner or later it'll come out.
