Hi guys,
I'm upgrading from my 7KXA/athlon 700/256mb PC133 Crucial, to an 8K7A+/athlon 1.4gig 266FSB/512mb DDR Ram (2400 or 2100, i don't know if it supports 2400)

I just wanted some tips from you guys as to what problems i could encounter.
I've already seen a few postings about problems with the motherboard and DDR and having to up the voltage, would someone elaborate on that for me please?
also, it seems that people are using DIMMS, while i was under the impression that this mobo only supported DDR.
anything else i should keep a heads up for?

Thanks ;)

DDR is still considered Dimm.
I only increased vcore above default to OC to 1.53 on a 1.33.
Main problem was it wouldn't boot to DOS with a Promise ATA66 card installed.

I'm extremely happy with this board (8k7a)!

Thanks! ;) I appreciate the response.

Please keep them coming.
I just want to make sure that the motherboard also supports 2400 DDR.

It should be able to go up to a 160 FSB.. its more if your ram can take it or not, and pc2400 would be more likely.

Crucialpc2100 should work find.

Dont get a netgear fa311 NIC.

by the way, what fan/cooling do you guys recommend?
i'm looking at the list AMD recommended, but i always take those recommendations with a grain of salt.

Got my glaciator today. Heavy as a mofo, but if you dont plan to move your computer around it is a very nice HSF. Total cost is like $50 shipped in the US. You will not find a quieter HSF that is better.
