Just a heads up, i had the transcend class 2 for my D80.. Raw + JPEG took 6-12 seconds per image... It was slow, really slow, but it worked...

I'm going on a long trip in about 2 months and i need the room, but the slow speed is kinda annoying.

is there a device to convert this to compact flash....reason being i want to replace my creative zen harddrive....with an 8 GB flash. To save battery power.

Just a note:

The new Palm Treo 680 supports SDHC unofficially out of the box (ie no hack required). 4gb SDHC cards work perfectly but 8gb SDHC cards are recognized as 2 separate 4gb volumes.

Casio, Nikon, and a couple of other digicam companies have issued firmware updates to make '06 and '07 cameras SDHC compatible. Newer ones like the Canon SD800is and SD900 support SDHC natively.

Also, the Epson Picturemate 2nd gen printers support SDHC and Newegg has a couple of card readers that take SDHC. For the most part, even newer devices that can handle 2gb and 4gb SD 1.1 cards will lock up or just not recognize SDHC cards.

I really doubt you'll be able to convert SDHC to CF. I'd just look for a cheap 8gb CF card and be done with it.

With the industry really lagging on SDHC support, I expect these low prices to continue to try and force the manufacturers into relasing updates for older devices to support SDHC. It's sad that brand new top of the line PCs and printers with integrated card readers still don't have SDHC support.

Yep. Pentax released firmware for the K100D to add SDHC support.
