8gb flash drive

I just purchased an 8gb flash drive and it doesnt always work. Ill transfer files and it says the tranferred but then Ill click on them and it says corrupt or they dont work. The files work fine on the hard drive or work when I transfer them to my pny 1 gig . Any ideas?

Ive tried other usb ports. My 1 gb pny works on the same port. I just got a reply form the ebay seller I bought it from and he said send it back. I formatted it. Tried resending the same info a couple of times. Weird.
 
My guess is, the stick contains bad sectors. How to check, no idea. Perhaps people on the Memory and Storage forum will know ?
 
I checked the propeties and it says 7.98 gb. its goes some really weird stuff. I checked once yesterday and it said something like 27tb. Anyway thanks for the replies but its going back today.
