8950?

Doesn't seem like that bad of a deal.

Dual 660=$450
LGA 2011+Quad core+memory=$500-600
Other components=$200-300

You have to account for their business costs. Dell doesn't make any profit off of their consumer business.

I suspect Series 2 of GCN will be a fair bit faster and more capable than the current HD79** cards.
Hopefully tho they won't fall for the "Slower is better" mantra getting pushed by the NV crowd here.:\

Those specs are from AMD's site, as of right now they are claiming the same specs as the 7970 for the 8970. I'm assuming it must be a big mistake, this past generation was embarassing enough for both companies, can't see them making the same mistake.

It was posted days ago that HD8xxx cards are just OEM rebadges. It is unknown what the true refresh parts will be named at this time. I suspect there will be a rebranding of the HD series of GPU's to go along with the "Never Settle" campaign.

looks like fermi 2.0 😀 or like radeon 5000 to 6000 series and nvidia 400 to 500 .... well 😀 that will suck ..... if there will be same story with 700 and 600 series then i will jump to 670/680 and wait till maxwell 😀
