Mods, if this is in the wrong place please feel free to move it.

Ok, I'm looking to upgrade to a 8800GTX however i've only got the one 6 pin power connector, Thats not enough, is there anyway round this, that is without getting to deep into stripping wires etc. Can i buy an extra 6 pin and change one of the other spare connectors over to it? Or is it a new PSU?

My PSU is an Antec Truepower 480.

I'm wondering the same thing in case I get an 8800GTX soon, so I'll tag this for later.

You might be able to get a 2 molex -> 6 pin adapter and use that.

Yup - it's power.

The hard drive connectors aren't designed for the amount of current that a high-end graphics card needs. They're only rated for a total of 13 A.

By contrast the PCI-E molex connector can carry 9A per pin for a total of 27 A.

So you need 2 hard drive connectors to ensure that they don't burn up under high load.
