you can with the GTX, I dunno what reviews you read.

I read someone saying the same thing on the reviews on Newegg that they had both the GTX and GT and the GT cant go max with Crysis, I am starting to think i might Cancel and wait to get the 3870 and then buy another one later on reviews say that will be equal or better than the Ultra.

running at 1080p res, my 8800gt can't go max. I can go high, but very high gets super choppy. Probably med-high works best, which means I'll probably sell it and drop to a 3870, which is better than the x2900xt which is better than the x1900xtx (what I came from). 2 3870's in crossfire are essentially equal to one gtx according to tom's. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the ati card is gonna end up being the better value.

Yea it is by a LONG shot. And the fact its only $220, I'd take it anyday over the $300 8800 GT. GT prices would fall back to normal if people would stop paying the overinflated prices (i.e. people, stop paying $300 and then we can all get one for $250 😉)

you can run maxxed but not on crazy resolutions. GTX can run crysis on highest DX9 settings with 1280x1024 resolution. The "very high" DX10 settings are playable at 1024x768.

I went ahead and ordered. If this is the new "hot" pice of hardware, why isn't there any newegg reviews on it? Not a huge deal but I found it strange.

How is the Core clock 650MHz ? Is it able to be overclocked? Will it be a huge difference in my evga 7950gt ko superclocked 512MB card?

I can always do the step up with a newer card in a month or two.

There aren't any reviews because it will be sold out in less than 24 hours and be removed from being listed...

Depends on the resolution... 2 GTX's in SLI wouldn't run the game in 1920x1080 on my 37" 1080p westy. My GTS runs a mix of med/high settings just fine on 1280x720.

Everyone forgets to stipulate what resolution they run their settings at. my 7800gt was running high settings at 15fps.... at 800x600

woot,
i made an order before leaving to work 🙂 glad i snuck in and ordered one before it was sold out.
Can't wait

btw, + tax + shipping = $330.00

So with the $20 markup over MSRP, this is basically 8800GT with Crysis for $20. Not bad I guess. I just can't wait until the new 8800GTS comes out to give people some other options.

How much will that one be ?? Back instock

This is an easy one. If you were definitely going to get Crysis but needed to upgrade you video card (like me), then you should probably jump no this. This card is incredible. As mentioned above, it is beating all other cards except the 8800 GTX, which it is just barely behind in benchmarks. Read the reviews on Anandtech, HardOPC, etc.

Fortunately, I got in on the really good deal with this card at frys.com for $229. But that deal is pretty much impossible to find now. I got the stock version, but it's actually running at the overclocked speeds by default (650/1900). And I got Crysis this week at CC for $39, plus a $10 gift card. So an OC 8800GT plus Crysis for $299 is not bad at all. You can consider you're paying $50 for the game and $250 for the card. An 8800GT for $250 is fairly hard to find right now.

I had already bought crysis when i ordered this thing 🙁 Hopefully i can sell it at work or locally for $30-40

Thats how I look at it, I wanted this game so i am paying $250 for 8800 GT. these things wont hit the $200 mark untill at least Febuary if not longer.
