I'm going to be receiving a THERMALRIGHT HR-03 GT and a 92mm fan for my 8800GT tomorrow. I was wondering what was the best method to overclock the card? I'm not after anything extreme, just a little safe boost.

Look on the BFG web site and see what they have for their highest overclocked model, and aim for those clock and memory speeds (if you use good RAMsinks). To overclock you can use nTune, the new Nvidia ESA tool, Rivatuner, ATI Tool... whatever floats your boat. Set it to those clocks and then stress your card using your favorite method (3DMock, ATI Tool, Crysis, insert-favorite-game-here) and keep an eye out for glitches.

You can be more methodical than that, but I think that's the "easy" way. ;)

I'd use EVGA's Precision or Rivatuner, none of this nTune junk. ATiTool is better for a stress test.

Anyway, I think most 8800GTs top out on high 600's at core, 1900s for memory, and I'm not so sure about shaders.
