So I'm building a computer and I've got everything but the video card and had a few questions.

1. I've done some research and the Geforce 8800GT overclocked edition seems to be the best "bang for your buck" so to speak is that true?

2. My friend and I were arguing and I think that since its the most popular card I don't beleive it will be seen on any huge sale ($25 savings) within the next 3 weeks, he disagrees anyone else have an opinion?

Appreciate the help.

no question, it is the best bang for your buck right now. It performs just under the 8800gtx in benchmarks and whatnot, ATI is really not keeping up at the moment. In the future you can volt mod/oc the hell out of it since its a g92 (65nm process), if you're into that kind of thing (like i am :p).

i bought mine for 250 each at worst buy (237+tax), that's better than newegg even. If you're lucky they are in stock at your local store (they are sold out online), they are selling for 250+tax now.
