8800GT memory OCed to 1100mhz...

hey, how high can you guys overclock your memory clock to? I read that 1000mhz is the max for most people with stock coolers, but for some reason I can go up to 1115mhz with the stock cooler! is something wrong with my video card/computer or am I just lucky? I hope I can go even higher when I get my Accelero S1 rev2 today...

When you crack off the heatsink, you will most likely find Samsung chips under there. The Qimonda chips had trouble getting over ~1GHz and a lot of them started to have problems above 975.

i see... and how come i can't go over 675 for the core? I've seen many go up to 700 with the stock cooler....

Might be temps or yield of the GPU itself. Is yours stuck at 29% fan duty cycle?

no, it's stuck at 100% at all times in BIOS

Ahh! That's noisy, but it should be running cool enough for those kinds of clocks. My GT with the large fan kept it around 65-70 at full tilt when the fan was at 50%. What are you using to OC? If RivaTuner, is the core and shader slider unlinked? Perhaps the chip doesn't like higher shader clocks.

You're lucky. My memory usually overheats because I have an accelero with no heatsinks and a small fan, so I need to downclock my memory.

the Galaxy 8800GTs have stuck fans, I can't control them that's why my Accelero is arriving today

I'm using Rivetuner, and my shader is currently clocked at 1700. I just brought it up yesterday; it was at 1600 until then.

today I'm gonna install my new Accelero and bump up my voltage to 1.3v and hopefully break 725/1900/1200.
