I can get the 8800GT for $140 or the 8800 GTS for $170. Is the GTS worth the $30 extra dollars? I also saw a 8800GT overclocked at 700MHz for $145. Which is better?

GTS is worth it for the better cooler. GT cooler is ass.

GTS is slightly faster at the same clocks as the GT, and if/when Physx on CUDA comes out, it has 12 more shaders to run that.

But really, wait another month and see what the new offerings are. Even if you can't afford them, it *should* drive the prices of the current cards down even more.

The HD 4850 and 4870 are supposed to be around the $200 mark and have 25% better performance than the 8800GT and the 9800GTX respectively.

NVIDIA's new offerings are going to be pricey (probably 400+) but should have incredible performance.

Get the gts if its only 30 bucks more, you get more sp's, higher clocks and a much better cooler. With some tweaks to the fan settings my gts is running mighty cool.

physX on CUDA will be running on the SP of any DX10 capable nvidia card as soon as the drivers arrive... the G200 is supposed to be released on the 18th, and it is supposed to arrive with physx cuda out the door, so we can reasonably expect to have physx on GPU in a month or two from nvidia. The GTS has much more shader capacity then the GT, which will be important for such things. IT also has a dual slot cooler, higher clock, etc... All its benefits definitely amount to being worth 30$
