seems they just got a new batch in, diff coolers on them, but no choice on which one you get.

link to the NCIX forum about it

one users preliminary OC results from the NCIX forums.

Stock: 600/1500/1800 Core/Shader/RAM

Preliminary rock-solid OC: 737/1836/1800

same site had it a couple weeks ago for $229.-235. if I recall right. that was the original one with the Zalman type heatpipe cooler

Anyone had any experience with Galaxy? I couldn't find a US address or support #, probably a great deal as long as you don't have any problems with it.

Notice that it says you aren't guaranteed to get the one with the nice HSF. This could be a bait-and-switch in that sense, but if you can live with the stock HSF then it might not be such a bad deal.

this is posted by a NCIX forum admin on the lower part of the linked page on the 24th of Dec.

"Just a quick note. We received a large shipment today and this product now has a new HSF design, instead of the "Zalman-like" one in previous shipments.

This new design is from Coolermaster, we've been told, and looks more like the NVIDIA reference design. This is still the SAME PCB from what we can tell, so no changes on that front. An early glance indicates that the RAM chips are now covered as part of the HSF design.

Unfortunately, as it's the same part #, we cannot guarantee which HSF customers will be getting"

I don't think they are trying to fool anyone on the hsf deal.

Pretty sweet deal. The non-Zalman cooler includes the 15-blade fan like the reference type for quiet operation. Being non-reference PCB however, does this card work with the NiBiToR voltmod or has anyone found vGPU and OCP mods?

It is the 512MB version, so it is the newer G92 part... Actually, this is a GT so it has only been produced as a newer G92.
You're thinking of the GTS, which the older ones came in the 320MB and 640MB parts...
The new GTS G92 is also 512MB...
(So just stick with the 512MB cards!)

Thanks for the info Shaotai and Kobb, looks like I'm safe buying this one then. Never thought my 7900GT would get dumped this fast. I had a 9700 Pro before it and it lasted a LONG time!

Ordered! Sheesh... Geforce 2 MX--> Geforce 3 Ti 200--> 9700 pro --> 6800NU--> 7900GS--> 8800GT. It seems that I have to upgrade more and more lately, hey at least we're not complaining about software being behind hardware anymore.

Hopefully this card will be decent, so far its a great deal. Thanks OP!

For anyone that received it, does it come with the power adapters? I have a 500W PS, but no PCI-E connectors. If not, I'll have to buy a couple separately I guess.

Sorry, I'm a moron, I didn't look at the other pics. This is a great deal, I'm trying to talk myself out of it right now, haha.

I'm rather baffled as to why this card has 2 PCI-e connectors on it, my 8800GTS 512MB G92 BFG card only used 1 PCI-e connector... ???

screw it, i bit. CA tax everywhere else makes this a hot deal for me.

oh and as far as the 2 connectors goes, other internet sources seem to indicate it is a redesigned PCB that has separate power for the GPU. the jury is still out on whether this allows for higher OC'ing, but i don't suppose it would hurt.

those considering this card may want to jump soon, just incase the site has any idea of acting like NE and jacking the price by $20.- $50. before the week is over..

they still have stock on hand as of 5:00 AM today.
