looks like the latest 8800GT to go on sale. Opposing fronts would be nice b/c I only have the original Company of Heroes.

I'm going on vacation in 1 week for a week, so i'm holding out on purchasing a new card until I return, but this looks nice. A little concerned about no GPU sensor, if one of the reviewers is correct.

*edit: Did some research, it has GPU sensor, just only readable with their latest updated software. From what I've read it is in the 40C to 55C range of idle to load with 55C being worst I've seen people post, most people posted load at 48C.

Gosh. I may just have to return the xfx 8800 gs I just received and pick this baby up...Anyone recommend that? 🙂 I'm sure this is much better than the 9600gt.

I ordered one when I saw the deal yesterday. Mine is due in on Wednesday so I can't tell you how it is, but it's and Asus. How bad could it be??

Hope the fan is quieter than the rackets they put on the EVGA (I love EVGA Cards though) Cards (I just fanmate them down to 5V)

-Kevin

Anyone know if this is quieter than the xfx 8800 gs? I don't mind the loudness of the fan, except for the fact that it's ALWAYS LOUD, even at idle 🙁

Folks at SilentPCReview say this isn't that quiet: link

..if noise isn't a high priority, however, this looks to be a great value.

Is this much louder than the xfx 8800 gs that was on sale recently? I am thinking of exchanging that for this 🙂

I just got mine today. It isn't very quiet (All my fans are at 7V w/ Zalman Fanmates), but at the same time, it isn't bad at all. Much much quieter than my old 7900GT at full speed. I deemed it quiet enough that it didn't need to get hotwired to a fan mate and turned down.

All in all-- this card was a good buy. Very fast, and pretty quiet.

If someone is interesting in selling COH😱F, drop me a pm. I wish I had the dough for a new card but my 7900gs will have to do for another year.

I bought it, twice. I don't play COH. PM sent.

It's $128 AR now. 🙂

I absolutely cannot choose between this and the XFX Zalman card.

I'm not looking for either to be silent - just not to stick out above the rest of my system. Better cooling helps, of course. I might just get the ASUS because of the slightly better price, and the free CoH: OF.

well, ZALMAN fans are known for ultra quiet and has heat pipes. I would think the XFX card would run a tad cooler. You don't get the game. I'd rather have the cooler running card... Dunno about noise levels tho.

I could care less about COH...

but if that were an issue I doubt you could go wrong with either card. (flip a coin)

Abit? ASUS. $158 in cart minus $30 rebate. That's what I ended up getting.
