Ok, so here's my dilemma. I'm trying to decide on a GPU upgrade for my current PC (X2 4200+, 2GB DDR500, 7600GS, blah blah) and am stuck trying to decide between these 2 cards:
http://www.directcanada.com/pr...85F256&manufacture=HIS - ATI 3850 256MB
http://www.directcanada.com/pr...8PUDF4&manufacture=XFX - XFX Nvidia 8800GT 256MB
Also, is the price on that 8800GT smoking hot or not? The 512MB version is about $249-259 from what I've seen so I'm really not 100% sure at this point.
I'm looking to get a huge jump in performance here. If it's relevant at all I play at 1680x1050 and as mentioned in another thread am looking to GPU upgrade to support a dual-screen 22'' monitor setup I'm going with come Christmas time. However, on one I will be playing games and on the other will be my iTunes, Ventrilo, Firefox, and blah blah. Again, if that's relevant.
Pull through for me again Anandtech! And if you can find a better deal, throw it up here and I'll certainly have a look. Try to make sure it's from a Canadian retailer though!
Cheers,
Paul
