Quick and simple question. My CPU is a 3.6 Prescott in an Asus P5GD2-X motherboard. I plan on getting a DX10 card like an 8800whatever. Will my CPU be fast enough, or should I stick with my 7950 card which is superb for Call Of Duty, Far Cry etc..., but I will want to start playing DX10 games when they start coming out. Should I also upgrade mobo and CPU as well?

Honest opinion, I would wait awhile. While an 8800 will probably be nicer in the short term if you are happy with how the system plays your current games then wait awhile till prices go down and more DX10 compatible parts are released.

When Vista/DX10 does hit however you will probably want to do a complete upgrade so I would start saving :)

Ya, if you don't need the performance now, its better to wait. The 8800 series is great for sure and a significant upgrade from anything, but there's still driver issues with both XP and Vista that'll take some time to work out. Once there's actually titles that need an upgrade, R600 and G81 etc. will be out, most likely offering better performance at the same price as the 8800 GTS/GTX now, while dropping the prices on the older parts.

I'm saving my hard earned pennies then! So, "Yes, I'll want a new mobo and faster CPU (Dual Core)" then?

You will definitely want a Core 2 Duo or even a quad core if you save enough pennies. I went from a Northwood P4 w/HT at 3.45GHz to a E6400 at 2.13GHz and the upgrade difference was simply huge!!! Much bigger difference than going from 2.13GHz to 3.2GHz if you can believe that! The C2D is simply amazing.

And as the others have noted... there are no DX10 games out right now and by the time they are out there will be better and cheaper cards to run them on than the 8800 series. ;)
