i picked up my 8800 gtx today but i have a problem. i have a dell dimension e520, i have a 600 watt ocz psu and a pci-e x16 slot. the problem is that the heatsink ( the black thing ) comes in the way of the card(the heatsink). so its not fitting. is there anything i could do ? i heard this model uses a btx motherboard and i would need a bigger case but i doubt that would help since its the motherboard that matters. any solutions or would i need to build a new rig ?

Your not very clear on what the problem is. What heatsink is getting in the way of the Video card. Are you talking about the CPU cooler? Are you having problems with the card fitting in the case front to back or what?

Bottom line is there isn't much you can do if there is space restrictions due to motherboard layout. If its the case getting in the way you can get a bigger case.

He is talking about the heatsink shroud arround for the heatsink on the motherboard I believe. I had a similar problem when I installed an X1800XT in my E521 but I solved it by cutting part of the bottom half of the shroud off and VOILA ! The card fit. Aside from doing this which will immediatly void any remaining warranty you have from dell, there is nothing you can do. Tbh you should buy a shorter/cheaper card like the 9600GT or 8800GT.
