But why does the memory say 520MHz?

DDR. 520 = 1040.

Yes, but..... Isn't the DDR3 supposed to be 900? =1800???

N/M. Saw my answer a few posts after the one I quoted.

I dunno, that didnt sway a whole bunch of ppl from the 7900gtx to the x1900xt/x, since those also had better IQ, features, and less AA performance hit. Not to mention how hot and power-hungry the g80 must be. I guess Nv tried so hard on the GX2, that now they're gonna have trouble trumping that card with a single gpu.
Let us be fair here. 7950GX2 is 2 GPUs slapped together. So comparing it to a single GPU card is apples and oranges to begin with.

That said, if the 3DMark results are even close to accurate, 8800GTX does beat 7950GX2, and that is a feat in and of itself.
The 7950GX2 is two cards slapped together, correct. Two 7900GTs more or less.

So from the standard 3D Mark '06 benchmark we can say that the 8800GTX is a little faster than two 7900GTs in SLI. It's true we don't have any antialiasing info yet but what do you expect from people breaching NDA? The XS forums are not exactly the AnandTech reviews site, we will see all the detailed and juicy reviews when the NDA is lifted.

I will wait for official reviews from reputable sites.

A. We dont know if they are even real
B. If they are real, were they done using release or beta drivers?

Victor Wang is reputable in XS, hes one of the first testing new stuff always, so you dont need to doubt his scores

But benching 3dmark 05 is worthless because its awfully CPU limited
06 is good though.. 12 K isnt bad at all :) Remember it is STOCK

Edit : He just updated the scores to 13,700 :Q

i bet that monster won't OC much

and 7950GX2 is practically an sli solution hence the comparison is unfair
The 7950GX2 also costs about £200 less.

But this card's strenght will probably be features + IQ + AA/AF performance, not some crappy 1024x768 benchmark

Damn those XS guys for not testing it decently

i bet the true performance increase comes when you enable AA and AF at 19x12+ resolutions.

for 1280x1028 you don;t need sli/xfire. you don't even need top of the line. a x1950pro or x1900xt 256 is enough for those resolutions.

I hope so. I'd like to see some results at 2048x1536 and above. Higher resolutions are becoming more common now, it would be nice to have a card that can provide PLAYABLE frame rates at those resolutions on a consistent basis, with all the eye candy turned up.

Yep.

November 8th. Possibly the 7th but I'm guessing the day they go on sale. Once it does get lifted you'll see all kinds of reviews go up on the net.

From the rough performance estimates out right now (mostly just of 3dmark), I'd say G80 looks to offer impressive performance, and with matured drivers, it can still yet increase. Personally, though, I'm much more partial to actual gaming scores, which are a much better indicator of performance.

But what I'm more interested in right now is everything else; aka the architecture, but more importantly, as a gamer, the new AA engine, what new overhaul did AF filtering get (that was much needed!), and what kind of IQ and extra features we'll be looking at. Performance is just a number (yes, a very important one), but I want to know all the big changes. That's something a mere 3dmark score really can't convey.
