I'm not a video card expert so this seems like it could be close but which do you think is better (ignore cost).

EVGA 512-P3-N808-AR GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

EVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

8800 GTS (G92):
Core Clock: 670 MHz
Stream Processors: 128
Memory Clock: 1940 MHz

8800 GT (AKIMBO):
Core Clock: 720 MHz
Stream Processors: 112
Memory Clock: 2000 MHz

Not sure if the extra stream processors make the 8800 GTS any better.

GTS 8-10% faster than GT

In many games, core clocks:fps scales at somewhere between .5-1

So if you're running stock they'll be close in some games, with the gts probably averaging around 3-5% faster over all. Really it depends on what games you run. If you're overclocking, GTS wins hands down since they seem to clock pretty much the same.

I just bought a BFG 8800GTS to replace an MSI 8800GT that I am going to RMA for a warped PCB and rubbing fan.

I'm running benchmarks on the GT before I take it out of my system. Can anyone suggest some benchmarks?

I've already run 3DMark06 at the default (OC) clocks. Next is stock GT clocks. 2.4ghz Core2Duo, 4gb DDR533, WinXP 32.

3DMark06
8800GT 660/950
1280x1024: 10528
1920x1200: 9034

8800GT 600/900

1280x1024: 10059
1920x1200: 8821

CSS stress test 1920x1200 all settings max

no AA: 226.94fps

16xQ CSAA: 125
8x MSAA: 150.75

both of those cards are pretty equal, but seeing how AR, the price difference is only 10bucks, i would grab the 8800gts 512mb over the akimbo 8800gt. the performance is extremely similar, you probably wont notice the difference subjectively while playing games.

I would get the gts, it has more sp's and still has room to overclock. While that gt is pretty much maxed out.
