There's some odd gaps in pricing, especially between $180 and $300.

AGP is deaaaaaaadddddddd...

Agreed. I think with the next generation, there may be 1 or 2 AGP releases at low-mid range, but then nV and ATi are going to drop the platform entirely. I even somewhat doubt ANY AGP releases.

nonsense

the x1950p ... the x1950xtx and perhaps the 1950px2 will be AGP

nvidia has to answer

there is no reason the 8600 series will be PCIe only ... there are still a lot of AGP machines around ... dying ... yes ...

... dead, not yet ;)

btw, your PCIe is gonna be replaced with PCIE2 :p

Yeah, I know. I'm pretty excited about that. The bandwidth increase is immaculate. Where are you getting all that ATi AGP info? I wanna see that stuff.

According to a Beyond3d member it wont be 256bit but rather 128bit. You would expect the chip to be pin to pin compatible with the G73s. Also mentions that clockspeeds arent a limiting factor, so we could see clock speeds up to 1ghz or more.

The picture could be of a 8300 (it's not clearly marked as anything) which would explain no Power Connector and the 6600/7600 PCB.

So the G86 could be pin to pin compatible with G73 i.e the 8300 series. I didnt think about it that way. Nice theory.

The shader clocks should be pretty high.

are you sure?

you'd have to look in an ATi thread :p
:Q

i think its the last page or two of the 'x1950pro is coming' thread ... there is a link to AGP 1950XTX coming ... that IS a pretty damn nice card.
. . . and the x1950pX2 in AGP is my own speculation of "possibilities" ... no one else mentioned it [yet]

here you go :

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/onsite_coverage/11.htm
Powercolor showed off their 1950XT AGP. I know, we asked right away why?! Their response: ?We still have a huge demand for high-end AGP.? Makes sense to me. If there is a market, then why not?

oops! ...

maybe not:eek:

looking at the Big Picture ... it appears to be a PowerColor x1950p ... the writer probably just confused xt with pro :p

no biggie for me

false alarm

:D

But it does say 8300 is 128bit, if this is the case i don't see why the 8600 wouldn't be 256bit, unless the 8300 is just a clocked down 8600 like the 7300GT was.

they say 256bit for the 8600, but the translated link makes no mention of memory bandwidth.

I sincerely hope it is 256bit!

Before it's translated from chinese it does specify 256bit for the 8600's. Recent rumours put it at 128bit for all 8300's & the 8600GT but 256bit for the Ultra.

Everything as of yet is just rumours & possible leaks. Specs will clear up in the coming weeks.
