I am looking to build a Media Center out of PII 450mhz machine. What I'm looking to do is record movies from digital cable, copy vhs tapes to DVD,pause live TV. A local OD has a 8500 all in wonder card for $130. I have seen some bad reviews by users on this card. saying it is difficult to setup. I have seen the 9000 all in wonder for about $160, is this a better option? With the card and 4x DVD burner I would like to keep it between $250 & $300 if possible . Any Help would be appreciated.

I have a 8500 AIW on my HT box, and have had no problems with it at all. HT computers are great. I have my DVD collection on a networked computer, and play it throught the HT BOX, and I love it.

One suggestion: the 450 P2 will be a very BIG limiting factor in your HT box. I run an XP2400+ with 512MB of DDR, and when converting VHS to DVD, converting DVD to the hard drives or pausing tv it is streched to its limits, and then a little more.
