845PE?!?

I recently got an email from a company saying they had the Gigabyte GA-8PE667 motherboard in stock. It has the 845PE chipset. Does anyone know anything about this chipset, what its features are, and if it is any good? Heres a link to the motherboard if you want to see it: Link

The 845E and 845G support USB 2.0. ATA133 is not supported natively, only on RAID controllers. No big deal since ATA133 offers a whopping 0% performance increase over ATA100.

845PE and 845GE have official DDR333 support, although 845G has it "unofficially". These boards are also said to support hyperthreading on the new 3 GHz CPU's.

It uses the memory controller of the 845G. That DDR333 memory controller along with HyperThreading support makes this a very exciting chipset Where do I sign up?

The Gigabyte i845PE board is in stock at newegg right now. I was hoping it would have 8x AGP, but it doesn't. Isn't that a function of the chipset, and if so, why wouldn't intel include it in their latest? Think I'll just go with the it7-max2...

Considering hyper-threading needs to be supported in software for it to offer any kind of performance gains, I won't be holding my breath for this chipset. It will probably be a year or so before the software that takes advantage of HT is easy to get ahold of. The 845G is good enough because the only other feature it offers is the soon-to-be-obsolete ATA133 standard capability.
