Just pull one of the cables out of that connector , put it back in the middle of the connector and it should be fine.

My son just bought all the parts for building his very first comp - consisting of this board, a 1.8A P4 and 2 x 256mb PC2100 (all of which emptied his wallet). He will be running WinXP, so I would appreciate any and all setup advice pertaining to this particular configuration.

Anyone notice anything odd with the vcores reporting? Using newest firmware (1.08), the mobo bios reports like 1.5 when i have it set to 1.525. But MBM 5 reports Core0 as 1.47 and Core1 as 1.57. Why are there 2 cores reporting? Why is one high and the other low? It seems like the mobo reading is about the average of these two. By the way, my case/cpu temps are also reversed. And that is a fact. Im using an alum-mg alloy case with SIX case fans, and only the stock HSF on the core. No way the case temp could be higher, unless the sensor is like directly under my video card or something.

Good luck trying to figure that one out dude. I had pretty much given up trying to fathom this. I think it's a good bet that the higher temp is your CPU temp. ... Actually, looking at my temps, WinBond 1 is higher (~43C) and WinBond 3 is lower (~39C). That would make sense, right, winbond 1 is the CPU.

BTW, Pragma. About the voltage fluctuation... I would hypothesize that since the vcore simply fluctuates on this board a lot, that's what you're experiencing. (In theory, when you're booted up into the OS there will be a little more CPU activity than when you're sitting in CMOS setup... hence the lower voltage? Let me know if I'm trippin..)

This may not be the greatest combination if he means to overclock. Problem with overclocking is that the motherboard is going to detect the 1.8A as a 100Mhz chip and will only allow 1.5 and 2.66 cpu ratios. This means with a default bus speed of 100Mhz he can choose between running the memory at 150Mhz or 266Mhz (easy choice). If he ramps the bus up to 133Mhz, which the CPU will probably do without even a voltage increase, his memory speed choices are 200Mhz and 354Mhz. His PC2100 may or may not be able to run at this high a speed (PC2100==266Mhz, PC2700==333Mhz). For more info on this see the Missing mem ratio on Albatron PX845PEV Pro thread.

Oh yeah, good point. I've always gone by "Core0", as this corresponds to what other people are seeing voltage-wise on this board. Anyone else ? ...

I would think the higher temp reading is the CPU but going by the bios reading the CPU is the lower temp on mine.So maybe winbond3 is for CPU temp since it matches with what I read in the bios.

The core0 reading in MBM I believe is the main voltage which provides localized power for the CPU and core1 reading is the aux power connector voltage for additional power.This corresponds to the values read by SisoftSandra also.

Wow I just noticed another thing. I want to oc my 2.53 C1 chip, but dont want to raise the vcore too much cause even ppl at 1.60 actual seem to be occasionally risking SNDS after 4-6 months. This boar undervolts, so i put the bios up to 1.575 volts (my chip is 1.525 default). MBM5 is reporting very unstable voltages on core0, during a prime95 run they ranged form 1.48 to 1.54. Is this normal? This cant be good for the chip at all. Strangly, the voltage seemed to be constant at 1.52-1.54 until i started the prime95, now its averaging like 1.50..... Does stainging the cpu lower its voltage????
