Hi, its been almost a month since I first booted up my new 8400 system. I've ran stability tests on the CPU and Memory and everything seems to be fine. I've made some memory timing adjustments to set it at the advertised speeds and they are stable. Set the mem volts to 1.9, the cpu is on auto. During the first week the vcore read anywhere between .960v to 1.10v, now I am getting readings of .920v to 1.010v This type of thing mimics other things I know to break in, like lawnmower belts etc. but you get the idea here. Everything is stable as I have ran more tests with Prime95 and memtest (not memtest86) Any sign of whats going on here?

Thanks

I'd try cpuid for specs. It's fairly accurate, and a free download. I don't trust some readings anyway. But Intel's speedstep may be running your cpu low. It's not a bad thing. As long as everything is stable.

yeah, i've used cpuid and hardware monitor and both read the same...

i'm sure its cause of speed step but the difference between before and now is what i'm wondering about.... at load it'll jump up and hover around 1.10v...

was just curious if it was a sign of any failing hardware... like the psu, mobo, etc all the the hardware is relatively new and under a yr old (not-that that means anything)

Not that I know of. My readings usually fluctuate with both speedstep and amd's cool and quiet software, depending on the motherboard.
