I think one thing we can all agree on is that nobody really knows what this 84 Lumber commercial means. Was it pro-Trump or anti-Trump? Was it pro-legal immigration or pro-illegal immigration? Why wasn't she or her daughter raped? Why was the journey so clean? How did she get inside the train car? What we do know is that it pissed off their customer base and likely pissed off the liberal douches as well (esp. with Magerko proclaiming Trump vote), so it will cost them dearly. Businesses who don't understand their customers need to stay the fuck out of politics.

That is a very strange ad... operating under the idea of no such thing as bad publicity?

Have you donated to the Bowling Green Memorial Fund yet?

Did you actually read what the company chief said? Doesn't sound like it.
Haven't seen the advert so I won't take a position, but I will point out that what she says it is about is after she unleashed a shitstorm. Whether or not that shitstorm is at all deserved, she's in damage control mode right now.

That's the amusing part. As was mentioned earlier, 84 Lumber somehow managed to irritate people across the political spectrum without really pleasing anyone. Well, maybe some on the left, since it ultimately helped their pro-compassion cause. Next up: a Hobby Lobby ad that inadvertently portrays gay couples in a positive light?

That would actually be pretty awesome. Maybe it could be a parody of the 84 Lumber ad - the gay couple starts off in LA (lower Alabama) and walks slowly and painstakingly to a Hobby Lobby in, say, Maryland.

Snip ~

What's more troublesome is when they take stances that are purely self-serving (say, evading US tax or fighting net neutrality) or hateful (see Chick-fil-A). And some of the companies doing the right thing in opposing the immigration ban are also promoting self-serving policies, so it's... complicated.

What did Chick-fil-A do that was hateful.

What did Chick-fil-A do that was hateful.

Its founder and his charity have donated millions to anti-gay groups, including those that oppose gay marriage or believe in the conversion therapy myth. The COO also made several public anti-gay statements, including the claim that the LGBT community was "inviting God's judgment" by having the "audacity" to define what marriage is (which is ironic, since he's trying to force everyone to accept his definition of marriage).

The company kinda-sorta walked back on those claims by claiming it would serve everyone equally and that it'd avoid contributing to groups with political agendas, but it's not clear that it completely stopped supporting homophobic organizations.

While I stay with my original businesses should stay out of Politics and I don't like Chick a fillet politics however I will say they walk the walk and talk the talk consistently.
Sundays off for employees
They feed homeless folks
They prepare special holiday meals for the needy
They encourage donations to help the needy.
*I think* a local one has housed and put up funds for a local family who lost their house to a fire.

well at least the border wall has become the border fence.

...and Trump is now saying repeal & replace will happen next year because reasons and stuff.
I predict it won't happen next year either because that topic is poison during mid terms.

Also, regardless of what their CEO says, walk into a CFA and their associates are ALWAYS (without fail) friendlier, more competent, and seemingly happier vs. any other fast food restaurant. Not sure what's in the company Kool Aid but it's working.

WTF, did we watch the same ad? Did you not see there was a big door that was unlocked?

No ladders
No tunnels
No lockpicking

The door is open for those we want to enter. This is literally what Trump said on the trail.

I've been hearing conservatives are demanding an alternative factual ending that shows the border story the lmsm won't cover.

I really don't understand people when it comes to immigration, there are billions of people in World and not all of them can move to America.

1. How many per year should we allow in?
2. From what countries should they come from?

It's founder and charity are not required to have the same beliefs that you do. Just because they do not agree with you doesn't make them hateful. Where was anyone treated hatefully by a chick fil a.

See the quote below for the truth.

I watched that yesterday. I have never once heard someone refer to legal immigration as a means to tackle world hunger (or poverty). I live in Massachusetts, with all the liberals here, you'd think that be something I hear from time to time. Nope.

funneled money through "christian" charities that promoted and funded Ugandan gay-execution gangs?

I mean, people are saying. I'm not saying that, but Chik Fil-A spent a lot of money on international anti-gay organizations. So it's only reasonable. You know, this is what the people are saying. I've heard it dozens of times.
