Well it started when my vortex 2 would not do optical. Using windows 2000 pro. So I said fine. I will get the most expensive sound card I can. And I saw the sblive platinum for $199.99 plus shipping. I started to fill out my info and buy the d@mn thing. Then it hit me to shop a lil bit. Buy.com is your friend.

The deal : coupon $30 off of $150

Subtotal $125.95

Total $132.51

nt bad, since pricewatch list around 155+, and cnet list at 200(street price) i think cnets price section is slowly deing ignored by them, probobly wrong, but that 200 price surprised me

You better delete the link to the coupon.
Also note that there is a free shipping weekend coming up this weekend.

On a side note the SBLive Platnium will only do Optical if you get the Digital I/O card or a reproduction on the web :( its about $50-60. Unless of course you get the SBLive Platnium Internation with the optical on the live drive 2.

Which vendor took $120 shipped on Nextag? Just curious because I've been looking at these for a long time.

The price on the regular SB Live should be dropping very soon....two new soundcards from Creative Labs are coming out...the SB Live X-Gamer 5.1, and the SB Live Platinum 5.1...both will have on-board digital sound processors....also, the price on the Dtt 2500's should drop as well, as there is a new DTT 3500 coming to go with these new cards....look for an official announcement next week!
