What problems have you had with them? I haven't had any stability issues with the betas at all, but I haven't exactly run them through a bunch of tests either. Are you using the XTreme-G versons? If so, I would hardly think it's fair to comment on NV's drivers when you're using a tweaked/hacked version.

Yes I was using the XG version. ON MY LAPTOP. I also tried using LaptopVideo2Go's INF for the 81.26 set on my laptop as well to see if it was a quirky XG tweak. Guess what? SAME PROBLEM. You guys can justify this driver being the "best there is" all you want. Fact is, I know different, so don't try to tell my otherwise 😉 .

Buddy chill out...based on what he said and his Limited testing it is entirely conceivable he may not have seen any issue....I have tested 4 games now and have no issue, but they may not be the games you play...plus they were not really having issue prior to these drivers...

according to NVidia, these are ALPHA Drivers. They dont render some textures correctly.

NVIDIA is continually releasing drivers to our OEM partners, ISVs, and developers for testing and evaluating new NVIDIA products and new software applications. This driver v81.26 that has appeared on the web is not reflective of the final driver stability quality that NVIDIA will release, so many of the application problems that users are reporting are a result of alpha driver.

NVIDIA recommends users continue to use official drivers from our websites: NVIDIA.com or nZone.com. These drivers have been thoroughly tested by our QA and performance labs.

Please continue to check back on our websites for new official drivers from NVIDIA that will be released in the near future.

It should be obvious that nVidia is trying to steal ATI's R520 thunder like they did with the Radeon 8500.

They will use IQ hax0rs galore to get the FPS they think they need to put their 7800GTX above the X1800XT. And of course, we can expect the ever NVDA-loyal Anand to disregard this possibility and skip IQ comparisons entirely.

Your hatred for AT is apparent, and you are scum.

Hmmmm... think I'll wait until the drivers are past Alpha. Fact, I might be upgrading my system to SLI and dual-core in a couple months so I don't know if this will help me at all... still, a good post.

I wasn't getting mad or anything, it looked like he was saying my tests were crap, which they aren't. I was simply showing my findings, and giving my 2 cents. I DO know what I'm doing, and it is unfair to say that tweaked\modded drivers are to blame for these problems, which they aren't.

Laptops and Desktops are two different beasts. Granted, the Go6800 is based on the same NV41 core as desktop GeForce 6800NU's, it has been changed\modified to be mobile friendly. So, while desktop machines may perform better with these drivers, laptops may be different. To wit, my desktop 6800GT showed only minor IQ\performance gains with the XTreme-G 77.77-HD driver over the XTreme-G 77.62-Type 3 driver, but when I modded the 77.77 for laptop support, I saw significant gains in BOTH IQ and performance on my laptop between the same two driver versions. It's just one of those things... 😉
