80proof vodka affects me much more than 70proof vodka

JEDI

Lifer
i made some jello shots and used icecube trays. after a handful, i was buzzed w/the 80proof vodka. and so were my friends.

a month later, all i had left was 70proof vodka. using the same recipe, i made jello shots. i had about 1/2 a tray, and didnt even get buzzed. WTF?!

5% less alcohol, and a 99% drop in alcoholic effects??

edit:
80 proof = 40% alcohol
70 proof = 35% alcohol

Um, its 12.5% less alcohol, not 5% less. 1-70/80 = 12.5%. But you should still get a buzz with enough of it.

The differential equation governing this situation is just too complex to realize.

Yes there are things called dumb questions.

Spidey07 is correct. If you drink the same volume, you will drink 12.5% less alcohol with 70 proof than with 80 proof. Or, alternatively, you drink 14.3% more alcohol with 80 proof than with 70 proof. The labels (ie 70 proof or 80 proof) include water which is irrelevant to this math.

Does this mean that you aren't drinking vodka right now? I wouldn't want to drink alone.

I was informed that drinking at my desk is frowned upon 🙁
