I'm wnating to go really quiet.

going to put 2 80mm panaflo's in each system, on in PS one on CPU

the cpu's are 900,1gig, and 800 duron so im not real worried about performance.

any thoughts?

<< those are fans usually found in powersupplys >>

Yep.. so sticking one in will be plenty of airflow.. unless you have a crappy Deer PSU 😛

<< works fine, heres a guide, I am gonna add to it so you can wire it into the PSU OCModShop >>

I just got done putting a Panaflo in my Antec PSU this past weekend. However, I'm not sure why in that guide, why they have you cut the fan wires. Well, at least in my Antec PSU, the fan had a 2-pin that was plugged into the board inside the PSU. I simply pulled the tail off of the board. Then I trimmed the tabs off of the 2-pin tail of my Panaflo L1A, and plugged my Panaflo back into the board.

ya I thought that was retarded as well.

also I barely found out in time that bgmicro had them! I though 2cooltek and others had them cheap, but comeon 300% markup? hhee

A suggestion for when you put the fan into the PS. I would not plug the fan into the PS...especially if it is a PS with variable fan speeds. I have had bad experiences with this. Simply plug in the fan outside the actual powersupply into the motherboard or one of the power connectors coming from the PS.

How did you plug the Panaflo 2 pin connector into the PSU 3 pin connector. That is which pins of the 3 pin connector did you use????

Seems like it will either work or not work, don't see why plugging into the MB would be a better solution.

you need an adapter

I installed a L1A in my 300W Enermax PSU about 3months ago, works great nice & quiet.I was able to plug my 2 pin L1A right into the pins inside the psu as well.I could have run the cables out or spliced them but in my case it was easier & cleaner to just plug in to the existing pins.

Just swapped my powercooler 80mm to a L1A on my SK6,temp is up about 1-2 celcius on a 1.33@1.47 default volt but all games seti, etc, working fine.

I Love my Panaflo's

You don't need a adaptor or anything else to hook it up to your motherboard. Just cut off one of the guides on the connector that are there to ensure the connector is hooked up to seat in the socket and then hook up the connector to the center and right side pins on the motherboard. The pin on the left is the rpm sensing pin and these Panaflo's don't support this. I have done this on two different boards and have been running fine for over a month with L1a's on my CPU with a 80/60 adaptor, powersupply and case fan. Now the only thing I can hear on my system is my 7200rpm HDD. I'm told that Seagate Barracuda IV and Maxtor L1 series hard drives with liquid bearing technology are very quite. BTW don't hook up your power supply fan to your motherboard. Mine didn't have a connector in the power supply and I had to remove the old fan by taking the solder off the old wires and completely removing them and then resoldering the new fan to the same connections.
