Video report

Really surprised there is no thread on this, seems to be something that should be front page news.

I just don't understand how people can support such policies. What's occurring is such a leap backwards to the worst policies of the past. This is the result of Political corruption, both Ideologically and through the influence of $. Is this really the world you want your children to inherit?

I think it's supposed to be 80-100k individuals, not counting the same ones a hundred times.

Big media will ignore, and NC GOP will not change their political view.

Then they'll get voted out, I predict.

The problem with the new post Bush conservatism is that it's all anger and no compassion.

Its stance on women is that if an unmarried woman that gets herself pregnant, then she and her bastard child deserve to be thrown out on street. Gone from the pro life discussion is any talk of adopting and/or caring for the unwanted children. Or even helping women to make the right choices beforehand.

Its stance on public education is that its a waste of money, and we'll just build more prisons later, and continue to use China as our labor force.

Its stance on poverty is that those lazy poor fucking deserve it. Gone from the discussion is the need for people and private charities to take up the slack if we wish to end public welfare.

Its stance on immigration is that of course it will be easy and inexpensive to deport 12 million illegal immigrants. They used to say the same about getting people to stop smoking dope.

Its stance on healthcare is that medicare and employer subsidies are both 100 % capitalism, but ACA is socialism.

I could go on and on here. My point is that they are a party of unpopular ideas practicing the politics of exclusion. Haven't you figured that out yet, you stupid liberal?

If you actually believe most of what you just said, then yes, you are a stupid liberal.

Washington (CNN) - A new poll released Wednesday indicates voters are divided on whether they'll vote for Democratic or Republican House lawmakers in next year's midterm elections.

According to the Quinnipiac University survey, 39% of voters say they would choose a Democrat in their congressional district if the election were held today, while another 39% say they would choose a Republican.

Yes, extremely unpopular. Remember, this was the party everyone thought was all done after 2012.

Even the slightest, faintest push back against the destructive march of liberal social policy is completely demonized. I'm thinking particularly in terms of immigration.

Anyone who even just wants to slow the flow AT ALL is portrayed as a horrible devil. Liberals are planting the seeds now of their own regret later in life.

I find that 100k number a bit of a stretch. Any actual pictures that aren't in an hour long youtube video of this crowd?

Detroit is a good example.

I realize you're pointing out the conflicts in those beliefs, but they still sound pretty good to me... :\

Illegal immigration is already about net zero. There is no logical reason to stall immigration reform except that the GOP wants to play to it's base for the midterms.

hahaha, that's quite a few whiney stupid idiots gathered in one place. Pretty much all the usual lib stupidity and talking points brought up to counter common sense policies. Don't want an open border free for all? You must be a hateful bigot. Want to make sure people voting in elections are actually who they say they are? Hateful bigot. Want to stop some of the permanent handouts for people who don't want to do anything for themselves? Hateful bigot. And on and on and on.

Age of ignorance, exemplified in this throng of willfully ignorant morons gathering.

A few thousand maybe, but 80 - 100K? Thats BS. From the pictures in the video the march had a long procession of people but they were spaced out to make it look like they had a lot.

Still even getting a few thousand people to march is significant. Most people don't care much about politics, they complain a lot but aren't willing to do anything, let alone march in the capital in the cold.

True, gotta give them credit for getting enough people motivated enough to join the march for stupidity.

To your average republican, who cares how many other Americans have their rights abridged as long as they leave our guns alone. Besides those "others" aren't really Americans.

Amirite?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Anyone who opposes abortion and amnesty will continue to get my vote.
That's what they're counting on. Single-issue voters they can scare into voting for them 100% of the time while they gut everything good about America and give the scraps to the robber barons.

One of the first things I learned in debate class was to not use insults against your opponent. It makes you argument look weak without actually saying why you disagree.

We could all beat ourselves senseless by claiming one side sees the other as a stereotype, a bigot, or by these endless, useless (IMO) insults.

But what is at the crux of our disagreement on one issue, voter ID? You see it as a needed way to verify who you are. And I would say that that assumes that illegal voting is a problem. I would also say that some who are eligible to vote don't have an ID for reasons of poverty and age (not being able to renew, etc.). I would also point out that my opinion of people who don't have ID is not that they're unAmerican, and I don't think they should not be included. Making everyone carry an ID of the state is unAmerican IMO.

Also since elections are so close sometimes, it would be an advantage to get a few less of your opponents supporters to vote. I believe that is what they're going for with these laws.

And I would ask why the verification is so important now? Everything has been working mostly well in our elections up until now. Laws were changed in this country in the '60's to prevent states from doing things like this, because it didn't fit American values at the time. Since the Supreme Court struck down those laws, the floodgates are open.

Why is ID verification important to you?

Yes, extremely unpopular. Remember, this was the party everyone thought was all done after 2012.

Being in a dead heat in the polls as the opposition party in the 2nd term mid term elections, with an unpopular President, is not something to be proud of.

I'm just making observations here. If you keep telling voters not to vote for you, sooner or later you're going to lose elections.
