Sounds like a good deal. Is there any scanned ads from today out there? There were plenty Thanksgiving ads, but I haven't see much about today's.

Just a quick note for those interested in the I/O Magic drive...I read through the online manual last night and could NOT find a single reference to Burn-Proof. There was a mention that certain conditions could cause a buffer-under-run :Q....so I would be cautious if I were looking for Burn-Proof (almost needed for a drive this fast)...

If anyone knows anything different....

Good Luck

I'd be careful on this CD-RW purchase. It does NOT offer any buffer underrun protection...NONE! Also, it is very picky about media and alot of current users are claiming 16x max performance under IDEAL situations.

How do you process three rebates though, if each one asks for UPC bar codes (original). Also, I've found CC rebates to be a huge PITA in the past. Had to call them several times.

The last CC rebate that I had process was a pain. It was for the Radeon VE video card. It took me about 12 weeks to receive the rebate. I called them a little after 8 weeks and their records indicated that they received the rebate packet from me about three weeks after I actually sent it. I don't have a doubt that you'll get your money - however, it may take you up to three months.

my I/O Magic 16/10/40 was a LiteOn, and yes, it does have Burn Proof. It's an excellent drive.

I got a Hi-Val 16x10x40 from the XP OfficeMax deal and Hi-Val, I/O Magic and Digital Research are all the same company, I checked all three websites and their 16X CDR didn't list anything about burnproof but when I got it, it had Superlink so basically I'm willing to bet whatever is in this box WILL have some kind of buffer under-run technology in it, they just don't list it on their website since they use different drives to put in their boxes and can't really list exact features of drives when they have more than one type of drive in the same retail box, don't let this scare you away CC still has their return policy duh =)

If I am reading these posts' correctly, ........... you pay out $319.98 .......... cash or credit now!

Then ......... depend on Rebates (don't know how many) to recover your $140. back ............ sometime in '02 if you are lucky?

To me, .......... thats definately NOT a hot deal .................. !!!
