Wouldn't matter much if you have heard of it: that much for a PSU? No way. I agree with Manzelle.

what he said - i just upgraded from a 9800np that oc'ed to almost pro levels to a 6800gt and i'm so lovin' it!

i just bought an audigy2 zs gamer, sweet card, at cusa 'til tomorrow for $80 after rebate.

you can get the speakers from amazon for $111 after a $20 rebate. i gave 'em a listen (i'm looking for new speakers too) and they are REALLY boomy with heavy bass, not sure i'd recommend 'em. i'm giving a serious look at the z680's or megaworks 550's - either would be a major step up from the z5300's.

i would also recommend taking a look at the zboard keyboard. i've never liked the asdw setup for gaming, but i'm really enjoying my new zboard. check it out!

I gather you havent :)

but it just comes down to wasting $120+ to get a 480 watt psu when you already own a 480 watt psu... just for for cable management? And this is coming from someone that OWNS a NeoPower 480.

I'd rather spend more and get an extremely high quality psu OR just keep the one you have and put a little effort into tying up cables nicer.

Of course.. I'm not saying the PCP&P psus are "cheap" but they are some quality stuff.

I say go woth the large LCD purchase, it will be something that will carry over to the next upgrade nicely, and you can enjoy it now.

Also that 480watt neopower actually creates a little MORE clutter with the motherboard connextor if you dont have a new motherboard that uses a 24 connector, you will have to use the 24-20 pin adapter and that kind of mucks things up.

If you absolutly want to use that one computer upgrades, a 6800GT would be a good upgrade, you could prolly get a decent ammount for ur 9800 on ebay. Your current PSU is more than good enuff dont waste money replacing it. Maybe get yourself a Athlon 64mobo/cpu. You don'y need anymore memory. Soundcard might be a decent idea, but for less money u could get a Abit NF7-S with soundstorm lol. For speakers if you want to spend more money look at getting a good pioneer or sony receiever for surround sound and buy some nice speakers for it, and then hook up to the reciever digitally and get some real nice sound.

I would never buy a big ass receiver just for computer speakers...besides, I already have a nice HTS...
I think I am going with what I stated earlier...the XFX GeForce 6800GT, the NeoPower (I like it, give me a break), and the Exos-Al along with the Koolance CPU-300-H06 block and the GPU-180-V06 chipset cooler...in addition to some mods for the case and perhaps even the OCZ DDR Booster for sh!ts and giggles...

Maybe I missed something, but why are you wasting money.....I mean why do you have to spend it? Is saving it not an option at all? You yourself said you where going to spend some of the moneyfor "sh!ts and giggles". Doesn't sound very wise to me but, what do I know.

It's just money...I save enough and now it is time to waste some of it...besides, I quit smoking 7 months ago so I am going to buy myself some gifts to celebrate...

Potiential upgrades..happening how soon?

The only upgrade I see being worth a sh!t is the Audgy 2. Don't blow your money on the rest. If your PSU works fine now, no need to upgrade, you already have 1 GB of nice RAM.

Get the Audigy and a 6800GT and be done with it.
