I never got the appeal of playing Diablo/TQ/etc with other people.

IF theres a buttload of cool guys playing then it can be a lot of fun. But since Iron Lore went belly up no one wants to get into it. Amazingly theres more folks on Diablo 2 even though its an inferior game and older.

A lot of the guys from Iron Lore formed Crate Entertainment, which is making Grim Dawn, an action RPG a lot like Titan Quest.

I can't see myself getting Grim over D3 to be honest. It looks cool, but it would have to be extra cool for me to split from d3.

I tend to like these games, but for some odd reason its a crap shoot on me liking them. It seems they're either crack addictive or else literally put me to sleep (was playing co-op with friends and I fell asleep while playing Champions of Norrath and the Baldurs Gate ones on the PS2 and then Phantasy Star Online on the Gamecube).

There was just something off about Titan Quest to me that kept me from really getting into it. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was though.

Of all the games to not have Steam Cloud save games on. :(

I thought that was added? Maybe I'm mistaken, but I was considering it and I believe if you buy it on Steam it has it. Or is that your point you don't have the Steam version so you didn't get the steam cloud?

By the time Steam Cloud functionality was introduced, Iron Lore had shut their doors over 6 months before, and THQ wasn't funding title updates for many months before that even.

Also, if anyone wants to play Titan Quest legit with the hacks and crap, you can add me as a friend on Steam, Krakn3dfx. I would totally be down to play some TQ.

I loved Titan Quest and was level 51 dual wield battlemage. Also I have a level 42 oracle wanted the dual pet thing. It seems to be one of the best single player games out there. I got half way through epic with my battlemage but now I'm switching over to the new starwars game it seems to be really fun.

I might take you up on that. I haven't played in quite a while though, but I was on my second playthrough when I stopped playing. I think my steam name is Martimus28, but don't quote me on that. I haven't played any MP games on steam since I played TF2 for a few weeks after it came out.

I played that game for a while and it was pretty fun, but it became quite repetitive relatively early on. Did not even realize you could play multiplayer. :hmm:

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that when I played it.

No I was just trying to make him look stupid.

BUT, the multiplayer buttons are right there under single player, and since they are slightly closer to the center of the screen your eyes must find them a little quicker than the SP button.

Its always been there. I am amazed as well when people complain about stupid problems which can easily be fixed in the options menu, which is always reached from the same screen you pick start game from. God damn people are lazy and helpless.
And I'm not talking about TQ, I'm talking about damn near every game. Always hear at least a couple complaints that can be fixed with the included settings.

Incidentally I still love KeithTalent. Like an Amazon with chain mail armor.

Thanks for the link, looks good so far what I see.

As for TQ, I only ever played it online with my brother, unlike Diablo which soured me for online play due to too many a*holes.

Love this game. One of my favorites really. The online is full of hacked games though, so watch out.

To be fair a lot of the mods are extremely convenient. For starters you can't play this game without TQVault. I am such a loot whore I can't ever get myself to throw away anything relatively good. These games always end up being a pain to manage my loot.

Well with TQVault, I can offload all my items to an out of game location and just load up TQVault if I ever want any of it back. Now TQVault also allows you to do many less legit things, but you don't have to use it e.g. complete a relic or swap its bonus (really not THAT bad).

Also there is a mod that lets you multiply the mobs by x2 x3 or maybe more. This way you can fight three bosses instead of one. I don't remember if it spawns more majestic chests or not (probably not) but still pretty freaking cool.

If anyone wants to play with me on steam, just send me a PM. I only have a 34 Haruspex, but it's a fun game.

To the people who say what's the point of playing MP vs SP. Same as any game, why not?

/shakes fist

Multiplayer actually sounds like it could be a bit interesting. Could help combat some of the repetitiveness.
