I agree, I see no reason to avoid AMD graphics for this build.

OP, are you happy with Zap's build plus 6950 2GB?

I am, in fact here is my order list for tonight when I'm pulling the trigger 🙂

Can anyone see where I could shave a few bucks without losing too much speed/power?

Thanks again to everyone who helped me out!!

Switch to this case: Antec 300 Illusion $42 AR (it's a steal, normally costs $70). 3x blue LED fans, more robustly built than the Apevia, free shipping.

You could switch to the XFX 6950 2GB to save $10 after shipping and rebate. You get transferable lifetime warranty which is great for selling it on, but lose out on the potential to unlock it for <5% more performance.

Antec HCG-620 not that affordable at $75, and it's more powerful than needed for a 2500K + 6950. I'd get XFX 550W for $55 AR. Nearly as powerful as HCG-620, 5-year warranty as opposed to 3.

The rest is all good IMO.

 Exact three points that I was going to comment on.
