I want to add that Microcenter has a 8GB (4GBx2) kit for $40. No rebate. I put a pair in my Shuttle SG41J1 (G41 DDR3 chipset) and they've worked great since purchasing them in July.

They have Nanya chips on them, leaving me to believe they are PNY Optima, however CPU-Z only shows Nanya for the JEDEC tag.

So you could land a 2600k, motherboard, and memory for <$400 out the door, which is ridiculous.

OP should add that its for brick and mortar only, not online. So useless to lots of people :p
You gotta be bleepin' kidding me. . . .geez! I'm ready, right now, to upgrade my computer for the first time in 5 years. This would be killer for me. KILLER! I could get an i7 2600k for the price I was planning to pay for an i5-2400. I got my hopes up for a minute there. :'(

I'm tired of missing out on this stuff.

When does the $80 come off when you order online?

Edit: To clarify... I don't see the $80 coming off nor do I see reference to it to the link provided for their other sales (though I may just not see it). I would like confirmation I can get the deal before I make a drive that is out of the way for it. When I choose in store pick up I just get the regular price after adding the CPU than a MB. Anyone else able to see the discount?

I live about 20 minuets away from the Microcenter in Patterson. I might be able to hook you up if I can find the time Saturday. PM me.

Same here. I don't see the discount in the cart even with instore pick up. I'd like to buy today if I can get it to work.

I live near MC, arghhh...! Is anyone aware of a Z68 board that supports i-mode for SLI? I would really like to power down my GTX 480(s) as much as possible when browsing the net, word processing, transcoding, etc.

The price does not get adjusted til you pick it up in-store. Using your credit card for instore pick-up only reserves the products. You don't get charged for anything til you pick it up instore and then the system will automatically calculate all of your discounts for you.

I don't see it advertised that way anywhere. If anyone can confirm this is going on it will be helpful. I tried calling to ask if they had any combo specials on these, but couldn't get anyone to answer.

When I first add 2600K to my cart and then add a Z68 board to my cart. No special messages regarding special savings or anything, the price just gets reduced $80. Are you sure you're selecting a B&M store on the pick-list before adding the parts to the cart?

I already mentioned. The discount does not happen til you pick it up in-store. You're not buying it online only reserving the items for in-store pick-up.

Much more important for me to see the discount when I add to the cart and place an order for in-store pickup before I drive to the store, which I do.

Well, you're not making an online order, just reserving the product. Read the fine print.

Thanks for the link Capt Caveman.

I'm not seeing the $80 come off like rolodomo mentioned, but this gives me more confidence. I won't be going to Atlanta solely to pick this up, but I can delay the trip until they do have a deal so just want to try to knock it out while there.

It is an order. An order does not require immediate payment. I pay for it (at the previously indicated reduced price) when I pick it up. Do you think this is the first time I bought from MC?

Last 4 weeks I've burned more cash upgrading my gear with MC than I have with NewEgg & Fry's combined in the last 14 months.

Oh cool. In that case, bought :)

Another way to think of this is paying normal price (same as Newegg) for the motherboard, and getting the 2600k for $200. :D

Damn, I wish they would get in the ASRock Z68 ITX board. I'd buy this combo in a heartbeat and do the 140 mile round trip.
