I found this at staples, 80 gb hard drive for 229.00. The yoy can take off another $40 bucks with the coupon(you can find at a coupon web site)

Link:LINK FOR HARD DRIVE

It not a bad price but it not a steal.

This is a retail drive with ribbon cable, screw, rails, and 3yr warranty. These drives are silent, and therefore great for upgrading TiVo units, and the price is definitely very good.

<<I would call this a warm deal.>>

JumpOn - You have got to be kidding me. Is this how you became a senior member? I never thought I'd see the day when Mr. Post-Every-Friday-Sale-at-Amazon would have the nerve to judge someone else's deal.

<<You can take off another $40 bucks with the coupon (you can find at a coupon web site)>>

AccessGuru - It's the line about the coupon. That's the problem. You stole it from JumpOn. Hot deal, cold deal...it doesn't matter. He wouldn't have said jack about the quality of your deal if you'd just given him the chance to say "use a coupon" instead. Don't believe me? It took 30 seconds to find a bunch of Staples deal threads where JumpOn's "valuable senior member" input was the ingenious suggestion to use a coupon:

Don't forget to add the $40 off $200 coupon!
Go to any coupon site, and get yourself the coupon code.
There are tons of $25 off $100 coupons out there. They should be on all coupon sites.
Thanks for the long list! You can make some $$$ by combining these with staples coupons.

Check out the animated advertisement about half way down the page on TauNeutrino's USE MY COUPONS link. Very funny!

It's a good deal I would say. This drive is actually fast and "almost" comparable to 7200 drive. I have the 40GB version of the drive. Check on past thread about this drive.

@$190, I would say this is a good deal. I needed this drive to store all my mpegs and mp3s. No need for a fastest drive.

I wouldn't say the WD is available at the same price. I've seen it shipped (to CA) for about $225, but not any lower than that yet. That said, I think the (approx) $25 premium is worth it. (The Maxtor is available at a lot of places for just over $200 plus shipping/tax.)

its still a fast drive for 5400 if you read the reviews.

Thanks for pointing this one out... I'm going to try and PM with Newegg, but this isn't bad at all if that falls through.

I just order one from staples, a 40gig 7200rpm for 103.90 after pricematch and 25 off 100. I think I got a pretty good deal. :) Took 3 tries to pricematch, cause staple count the price for the next day shipping.

I don't think they will pm with newegg cuz the one newegg sells is an oem drive... someone let me know if they can get it to work.
