Will Blue give you credit for an out of stock item?

actually, seeing as how blue pricematch lasts for 60 days, it is very likely that the price of this hard drive will drop to ~$100 levels in which case final price for the drive will be aroudn $20-30

good (and bad) thing about technology i suppose

Um, NO. The PM is NOT $74 because you did NOT buy it at BB for $199, but rather for $149. So the difference is only $24, not $74. Still not bad.

Still the total would come out to around 50. will blue pm it, that is the question.

If all that is required on the rebate form is a capacity label then that is all that you have to send. They cannot change the rules midstream. It is called falsed advertising and could be considered a tactic not to pay rebates. Not that you should scam, but if you send in what they asked for you are right.

Hey

Great deal! I got the harddrive.....well.....only after waiting on hold at Best Buy waiting for Circuit City to answer in their computer dept for an hour! :| Not cool CC!! Anyway, I sent my friend to the store when I was on hold to take the tag......no problems then! ;)

Thanks for the deal.....now time to start moving data!

Wow, so sweet. I just got one. THanks to KK for the receipt.

I brought it to BB and talk to a clueless and lazy Guy there and he did not even look at the receipt and sign the paper. There I got it down to $77 after rebate.

Here the tip guys: go to BB around 8:30 PM so these guys are sleepy and want to go home, so they don't even bother to call CC to check it out.

Picked up one over here and had no problem whatsoever. The chick that rang me up didn't even care to look at the paper I was showing her. No phone call to CC either.

<< KK,

You should specify in the title that the PM requires one to have the AMEX Blue card. :(
>>

Natas666,

with CC offering it at 149 you don't need to pm it with amex.

Woohoo! Sweet deal!

I bought the drive for $199 at the Rockville, MD Best Buy. They said that they didn't have any left, but there were 2 on top of a shelf along the wall (needed a ladder to get it down). I got one of them, there's another left. Then I went and bought it at CC for $149. The Rockville store said they were out, but I used CircuitCity.com to buy it and request a pickup at the Rockville store. Went there and picked it up with no problems (you pay $199 on the website, and they refund you the $50 when you get to the store). Went back to BB and showed them my CC receipt. They rang up the PM with no hassle. Weird thing is that the receipt says that the matched the 149.99 price, but only charged me 134.99 :)

So I got it for 134.99 + tax - $75 = ~65 :D

Quote from fine print of BB rebate offer form:

<< Offer is limited to one rebate check per eligible product purchased. >>

This means you can buy as many as you want and have the rebates sent to your home doesn't it?

Someone at FaaatWallet claims that they too called the rebate center phone number and that rep told them just the capacity label is fine. I am taking the rebate form literally.. it says capacity label from the FRONT of the package. Technically the UPC that is part of that sticker is wrapped around the side of the box. I'm just sending in the capacity part and if it gets rejected I believe we can argue about their lack of detail on exactly what they want. Plus make photocopies of everything submitted.

Why don't you just save your self some hassle and just send in the upc just in case? I would rather do that just so I make sure I get my rebate.

MAN! I went in to Circuit City, it rang up as $199, so I told them I left my wallet in the car and never came back heh. I thought it was supposed to be $149?

I don't see why you need to PM to CC. Just pay the $200 up front and use AMEX to PM 200 -> 125 (or whatever the price is in 60 days) instead of 150 -> 125. Same total PM, same rebate, less hassle (especially if your local CC doesn't have the discounted price).

Uh, why did you leave instead of telling them that it's supposed to be 149? BTW, they won't kill you if you change your mind and decide not to buy ;)

Someone earlier suggested it might be possible to copy recipts and send in the Rebate to BB and get the Gift Card form CC.

I'm fairly sure that will NOT work if you return the driver to CC.

I'm pretty sure that CC tracks the reciepts and they will know that it was returned. It all goes in a big database.
That's why you can buy and extended warranty in Arizona and have it honored in Maine even if you don't have a receipt with you.

Also, the CC gift card form SAYS to send in the UPC but there is a picture that shows teh drive capacity info and says that that is teh Proof of Purchase.

YMMV.

Went twice to Best Buy. First time, two guys, said they needed the actual C.C. ad to pricematch, not the shelf copy, I got from this thread. So I went to C.C., which was across the parking lot. Their ad said it was 199.00, so I couldnt use that. Went home. Had to leave the house again, so I took the copy of the receipt from this thread. Now there was two girls working. No problem with the receipt. Paid with cash, and the registered spit out the rebate. She said, here is a REBATE... Didnt press the 110 Percent, since I felt 162 -75 was fair enough.....Now I wonder if this will be problem, since I have another rebate from OM from about a month or two ago, for $80.00. Seems like I should be able to jump on both offers to same house for same item, if they're different rebate offers.

Thanks..

Well I just printed out the receipt from CC stating $149. I'm hoping Best buy will give me the deal.
