I play GH1, and I don't see how this kid can possibly do this well. I think it's fake somehow. Right around 1:34 someone pointed out in a comment that it doesn't look like he's strumming...

I searched, sorry if repost.
What do you think?

You don't have to be holding down the "strummer" button when notes are long like that.

Looks real to me.

better than me.

looks real, some kids have a lot of time on there hands they can memorize this kind of stuff, even at this age.

I knew a person who could do DDR songs from memory...and nail them perfectly, did I mention the kid was like 10!

its possible.

I know that, I meant it didn't look like he was strumming during notes, not chords

Hammer Ons and Pull Offs are your friend in GH2 (on Hard/Expert). You can play certain parts of some songs without strumming at all. One of his vids has a prime example of that(might be that one, didn't watch it all).

Basically: It's real, he's just got a leeeeeeetttllee too much time on his hands.

Can you explain what hammer ons and pull offs are? I'm still new to it all.

it's what you just saw: fretting a new note without plucking the string.
