My ONLY requirement is to be able to assign IP address's from internet service to computers behind router. That's ONLY requirement, that and at least 8 ports.

Other then that, I'm looking for 16-24 port, with security and price in mind.

I know I can't find this for less then $100 but that'd be nice. Can I find something to satisfy my needs for $150ish?

Most reviews/articles I found seem outdated or for more home based solutions which don't meet my requirments.

Any help?

Thanks!

And explain why a SOHO broadband router and a cheap 8 port switch doesn't solve the problem? I presume you are talking about forwarding ports, I don't really understand "be able to assign IP address's from internet service to computers behind router", exactly what are you trying to do?

Well take a look at this page you can find a Router and combine it with a Switch for less than $40 shipped. As far as I can see it totaly meets your ONLY REQUIREMENT.

Link to: Inexpensive Network Stuff.

Now, if you are not describing correctly your Requirement we have a PROBLEM!

Very sorry guys. You are all correct.

Good router that does IP routing. I just need to assign extrernal IP address's to internal computers.

So a good one port router with IP routing, and a 24-port switch which will accept the routing from router (all do, right?).

Does that clear up the mess I started?

edit:
was thinking of the Cisco 1700 or the SonicWall Z170, any other suggestions? Would be nice to spend less then those two cost.

If he doesn't want NAT, and has multiple public IP addresses, what's the point of anything besides the 8 port switch?
