Nice catch. I just returned from CompUSA with one. The box dosen't say FMI on it. It took quite a while to find this item.

FYI the box is yellow with the words "8 Port" and "Networking Hub" on the front.

Thanks for the new back-up hub.

ya when I brought the 4 I could fine up to the counter they were like, cr@p thats a good deal, I told them thier inventory showed 2 left, but I decided to leave them, and a couple of the clerks went tearing off into the back.

Cant order online. Its unavalible, I remeber this from like a month back in a most. So good deal if you got a compusa around you.

Garrett.

Asked the customer reps if they had the 8 port hub for $9.88, and they said if they had a hub $9.88 they would buy it right on the spot. One of them found the 8 port hub but with a price tag of $35, entered the sku into their terminal, turned out to be $9.88. . . both of them skurried off and hid the rest of them (3) behind the counter. I have a feeling those hubs will end up on egay very soon.

Wish it was 100Mbps, but can't complain. Works perfectly. Great deal, thx to poster.

This deal was noted on Anandtech at least three weeks ago...
I don't know why everyone is getting all hot'n'bothered over
a 10-base-T hub...Yesterday's news...If this was 10/100, it
would be firey. But 10BT? At any rate, this is an old deal;
the fact there are still a bunch out there I think speaks to the
semi-warm nature of it...

not everyone has a 100mbps card
and for 10mbps, that's perfectly fine for many applications, including gaming

for 10 bucks, that is el cheapo!

i got one today. If anyone lives in Queens, New York. There are 3 left on the bottom shelf of the network stuff.

Now just got to find a place to get some cheapo cards = )

Will this be fine for running quake 3 over all 8 ports?

I got mine in Culver City, CA!

Thanks unsped! This is an awesome deal! 2 yrs ago, i bought my 8 port 10mb hub for $40!

To those of you in the LA area, Culver City has 12 left I think! Very back right corner of the store. not in the aisle, but at the end of it.

its kind of funny, the FMI 5 port hub is 19.99, sorry if this is a report, I did a few searches before posting.

picked up the very last one at the compUSA in omaha, NE. It was hidden amongst the 10/100 ones. unfortunately, we brought it up to the front desk and they checked inventory and said there were seven more. We had them check in back and around the store. After waiting 30 minutes for them, they returned and said, well i guess that's the last one. :-( If any of you locals are able to find any more of them in the store, kudos! 😉

I picked up 3 at compusa in Wilmington, DE yesterday. The rep stated they had just gotten them in and had about 500 more... Dont know how true that is... Good luck
