8 bad tech habits that need to quit in the new year.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28...h_BadTechHabitsToBreak

#1 No-eye contact, looking at gadgets (put down the phone)
#2 Dumb pictures on facebook (put down the camera phone)
#3 texting and driving (put down the phone)
#4 posting pointless comments (like this)
#5 forwarding hoaxes (potentially like this)
#6 asking friends instead of googling stuff (let me google that for you...)
#7 talking loudly on the phone (put down the phone)
#8 rickrolling (it's jumped the shark)

I don't do any of those. Except maybe #4.

I would add my own, though:
#9 Producing fluff pieces on technology that have little to do with technology

I agree with essentially all of that.

The Rickrolling thing, though, is sort of funny. It's crazy that a 4chan meme has permeated society so much that the Macy's parade and MSN are all over it.

My wife needs to read #6. She'll be sitting on the couch with her laptop and will ask me a question that she could have the answer to herself in about 5 seconds if she just typed it into google.

#8 is blasphemy. I just prank dialed a coworker with a rick roll yesterday. IT NEVER GETS OLD! <shakes fists at the sky>

It was old two years ago.

Now hold on a damn minute. I have never actually "rickrolled" anyone, but even if rickrolling goes out of style, Rick Astley NEVER will.

NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP! NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN!
