So the rest of the DLCs aren't worth the money? What do they include?

The GOTY includes all of the DLC. The DLC is very much worth having.

New areas, stories, enemies, loot. An item bank in the DLC to park items you aren't using right now.

The item bank alone is worth the extra (gasp!) $2.50.

And yes, it is fun as a single-player shooter. That's all I've been playing so far.

I've also only played single player, and probably put close to 200 or more hours in. I actually have intentionally avoided online play as, from what I've heard, there are a lot of hacked items, infinite shields, etc., so I choose to avoid possibly picking up one of those items and ruining my game experience. If you want to play co-op with someone online, don't do it with some random Joe Blow, find someone here on AT to play with, or find someone over on the Gearbox forums - Link

2.50 for all of the DLC...yes, totally worth it.

The only weak one is Moxie--it's an arena which can be fun for co-op of course.

but it does open up the bank for you, which has its own singular value. claptrap and knoxx are almost games within themselves. zombie island is similar, but I'm not a fan simply because I'm sick of zombies.

I hate when they have deals on CS:S. Gives the cheaters a way to pick up a whole bunch of new keys for a low price, which is obnoxious when you're a server admin on a popular server. Oh well... such is life.

I just bought the GOTY edition, but when I click on CD key, it only shows I own the Moxie and Zombie Island CD keys? Where did the Robot Rebellion and Secret Armory CD keys go?

I got three, I believe. The Moxie and Zombie Island keys, and a key for some Duke Nukem Forever deal. The game does say I have all four pieces of DLC, though.

Oh, and after playing it for a few hours... skags are my new cliff racers.

Oh, and one more thing... entering the key was really, really clunky. I fast-traveled to Jacob's Cove and the game seemed to hang. Eventually realized that it had popped a dialog behind the render window. The mouse disappeared and the dialog controls lost focus and I had to continually alt-tab to get to the next button.

You only need to enter keys for Moxie and Ned's if at all.

Not exactly sure what that means, but wait for the scythids and never ending spiderants. 🙂

I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago when I had to enter the code (I forget why I had to). I was so confused as to why the game wasn't loading, and then I had fun trying to enter the key.

Gearbox ought to consider making Borderlands 2 a Steamworks game.

Duke Nukem is steamworks, right?

i imagine it will happen.

Having a lot of fun with it, especially at the price. Vehicle controls are strange but I'm getting used to them. The game is amazingly generous with ammo and weapons, at least in the early zones. One thing that bugs me is that I don't seem to have any effect on the world really. I went back to Nine-toes lair after the battle and returning to Fyrestone, just to see if I missed anything good, and he and all his henchmen are back. It's nice when the containers respawn everytime you zone in, but for the major baddies it would be nice if they disappeared when defeated. Is this consistent throughout the game?

I didn't think bosses respawned...

^ respawning allows farming for items, since the chests and drops are randomized, and the boss weapon drops have some randomzied stats.

Not all bosses respawn, but some like Bone Head definitely do.

On playthrough 2 the levels of enemies in all areas are raised, which keeps them fresh. It will also feel different since your mix gear and your character skills will have changed.

Once you've finished the Knoxx DLC the fixed levels switch to being scaled to your own, which ramps the challenge up again.

I've been following this suggested order, though I skipped Moxxi except for using the item bank to store weapons and class mods:

some of them do--which is important in a loot-based game like this. if you're into that sort of thing, then you will want to farm some of them. --though very few of them will drop anything that is worthwhile in the higher levels.

Of these bosses, Bonehead, just outside of Firestone (~lvl 9 mission) might be the best, actually. His weapon is a nice SMG that if it drops with decent damage could hold you over into the 2nd playthrough. it will rarely drop with an ammo regen mod, or so n7 says.

I think the only one that doesn't respawn is
King Wee Wee, from the New Haven Bounty Board
. He actually drops a nice shield, and sometimes a nice SMG, I think? you may want to fudge that quest a bit so you can farm him, but there are better ways to spend your time getting better gear.

King WeeWee's shield has always sucked for me.

I don't remember the details (b/c I've never farmed him--only killed him once, by accident), but for a certain percentage of the game, it can be unusually good. It has a rare mod, but you'd have to farm him to get good stats, I think.

I don't think it's better than something you could find in the Armory, though. or from Crawmerax, of course.

316 hours played and I've still never managed to kill Crawmerax. :|

Crawmerax is pretty easy as a Siren, thanks to Phawewalk invulnerability. The other classes have a much more difficult time. I've only killed him with my Siren, many times, and have only attempted him with my Hunter/Mordecai, but only managed to get him down to around 10% once, but ended up dying.

purchased the DLC one for 7.50 ... should be fun, if I ever get time to play it 😀

Borderlands is best in co-op with a friend. Its a good game in single player, but its a great game in co-op.

Back in December of 2009 my son and I played borderlands for close to 25 hours over the course of a weekend. It was one of those great gaming experiences that I never want to forget.
