8.1 Start button

Been having fun looking at some new things.

Anyone know how to remove the start button? 😱

I haven't used it myself but there's an application called StartIsGone that will do this.

I know I'm going to regret this, but I have to ask: why would you want to remove the start button?

You have a point,all it does is take you too Metro Start and that was easy to do without a start button ie Win8,I guess it makes some people feel better by having one in Win8.1 even if it's more or less redundant.

Yeah, but the power user shortcut menu that pops up when you right click on it is really cool.

MS should have made the start button on/off switch. I can do with or without, I'm pretty sick lately of even messing with computers. I don't even feel like typing windows update to download the updates just to get the option of 8.1.
Last few weeks I click on 2 shortcuts. IE and Steam. I swear if I have to configure one more thing I'm gonna explode, been doing this rinse and repeat PC crap for some 15 years just to have a good gaming rig and I think I'm finally burnt out.
Can't wait for new Ipad and Playstation to come out so I can sell this thing.

The menu was there before the button, id assume it will be there when you remove it aswell.

Nah im joking I just dont use it so I would like that little bit of taskbar back. Pin something useful there.
