The Taisol is made the same way.
It's AMD approved.
It has a special power connector that can be monitored.
The bottom of it fit into the mobo like a piece of puzzle(some people still put it backward which is a no,no.)

Taisol is a square, it fit into the Abit better them the chrome orb(round, which make it tight against the capacitor around the cpu.)

bkdiem,

lol you serious about the heatsink not mounting properly if you switch the chrome orb 'backwards' ? if so, i guess that accounts for my extremely high temperature readings. heh :Q just for the record, i'm using this in the meantime til i can get a taisol as otherwise, i'd use my fop38, but, try as i might, am unable to get the #*&$@ fop38 installed. for the love of god, how do you install the fop38?????!!!!

the temp for me usually fluctuates round 46-48.0C after playing diabloII for about an hour. otherwise at idle, its about 42-44.0C both instances are with the case off. i still need to figure out the best way to ventilate my case so i can have the case closed. if not, i guess i'll just run it w/ the case open like i've always done on my other systems.

also, just to test out the temp differences, i ran my system at default clock speed of 650mhz last night, and temp idle was about 37.0-39.0C and ran up to about 44-45.0C after playing diabloII for a while.

I popped a hole in my heatsink and ran it dry for 25 miles... i got to the computer repair shop and put a patch over the whole and added "air" and thanks to SLICK 50 I didn't damage any parts..
i now use slick 50 in my motorhome "full tower" and all my smaller vehicles "mini mids"
sorry i just had to put my own litle TRUE STORY in there.. :) i do love my GORB.

bkdiem2, you can get the abit settings here: KT7 FAQ
Road Runer, can you tell us where the deal is to the Taisols? BTW, I don't think the Vantec was that bad.
Spindler, I had to modify the clip on the Global Win FOP32. Pressed the clip against the side of the door and bent that sucker in. I really don't understand how this clip is not supposed to crack the core. Anybody have any probs with cracking or did I just waste my time and raise my temp?
