7G DDR3? Is that possible?

I have six memory slots in my PC. I already have 3*1G DDR3 1066 in 1, 3, 5
Can I install 2*2G DDR3 1333 in 2, 4 so that I can upgrade my memory from 3G to 7G? Will that improve my PC's performance?

Thanks in advance!

I know the 1333 will downgrade to 1066, but that's OK as long as the system is working and I got better gaming performance. I am cool with that.

Check your manual for what slots to arrange them in, but yeah, i'd definitely do that.

People get far too excited over having matching sizes/speeds/numbers when it comes to RAM.

If it's stable, 7 GB > 4 GB.
Any performance "drop" is going to be impossible to discern in anything but synthetic benchmarks.

This is true, i shouldve clarified that reverting to dual channel will not hurt performance at all.
