I know all about the stutter stuff and get it. But I'm having issues with Lighting, the flashlight Flickers in L4D2, always. I had a driver version about a year old (sorry don't remember its Number) I upgraded to the latest (couple weeks ago aprox). Same thing. I'm happy with the card even with all the negative except for the HEAT, its an easy bake oven. But LFD2 has been my lone problem child.. I haven't noticed the stutter so many talk about except in LFD2, it can 1 out of every 5-6 games get a bad stutter, log out and back in fixes it. But the Flashlight is driving me nuts, its like a strobe.

Wondering if any of the few 7990 users have seen this and fixed it? or have ideas on how.

also WTH video card are people who Play WOT using to get 90fps.. im like 60-70 with this card at max settings.

Pretty sure that's an OpenGL game, which means no frame pacing for your 7990 and poor driver support. Have you tried to enable VSync to help with the flashlight strobe?

I understand the stutter problem, its a bit how would one say "mountain out of molehill" as i stated I dont notice, Yes, if i look for it, some games do display some of it, but its like a room full of 100 sweets and a room full of 99 sweets, one is better but they are dang close. Its just been exaggerated (ravings of a person who bought one maybe, but for the price/performance i can live with it), its an issue, no doubt, but now that you mention it, it could be it, while the stutter has been a non issue in other games, in this case a light may be one that it is an issue. I would think other games with flashlights, etc would suffer too (and i have tested, as there are several) must just be the way source does that light. And the Vsync, I did try no change.. I just find it odd that in maybe 100 games I have played on it one is giving me problems. thanks for suggestion.

I'm running 14.9 driver with 7990 and 7970 in tri-fire and no issues like what you're describing. And I've been playing recently, too.

Do you mind listing all your specs including monitor and how it is connected... just everything?

Thanks for all the info, strange as it seems this has cleared up, how i don't know, update to LFD2? Just wanted to close thread, so so many "help" and nobody ever says if any suggestions did help, in this case, the suggests didnt fix, so wont be much help, but problem is solved.
